The Challenge: A client with a lake-view cottage wanted window shutters that wouldn’t block her view.
A client with a beautiful lake view at her cottage wanted window shutters for its distinct look as well as its privacy and insulating properties. The client was extremely fond of shutters and wanted to capitalize on some of its benefits; however, she did not want to lose the fantastic view from her cottage. She approached us to find a fitting
The Solution: Installed a plantation-style shutter with adequate louver spacing and bi-fold panels.
After discussing the issue with our client and inspecting her space, we devised a quick and effective strategy. Our strategy came in two parts. First, we installed a plantation-style shutter with a 3 ½” louver as the spacing to ensure our client gets an open view when the shutters are opened flat. Then we did the panels as bi-folds so that they could be opened to the side of the window, be framed, and also give our client a completely unobstructed view.
Our biggest challenge with this project was that we had to make sure we had enough wall on each side of the window to draw the shutters off. Nevertheless, in just a matter of an hour, we provided our client with a fantastic looking treatment!
